This is a charcoal sketch of a self potrait by Kathe Kollwitz (7/8/1867 - 4/11/1945 ).
Kathe Kollwitz was a german painter, printmaker, and sculptor whose work reflected an eloquent and powerfully searing account of the human condition. Her work embraced the victims of poverty, hunger and war.
